Developmental Preschool
Our classroom curriculum is based on the Whole Language Approach covering the learning domains: Cognitive, Self-Help, Social-Emotional, Fine and Gross Motor. We have highly trained staff in several proven methods that have been successfully applied to children with diverse abilities.
Specialized Programs Used at Grow Learning Centre
Conscious Discipline is an evidence-based behavior management program utilizing current brain research and developmentally appropriate practices to provide an array of strategies and classroom structures that teachers can use to turn everyday situations into learning opportunities. Created by Dr. Becky Bailey, an internationally renowned expert in child developmental psychology, Conscious Discipline® is built on the premise of developing discipline within children rather than applying discipline to them. The Conscious Discipline process applies equally to parents, child care givers, educators, and patient caregivers.
We also utilize the Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS), which teaches non-verbal children alternative ways to communicate needs and wants to others. PECS does not require complex or expensive materials. It was created with families, educators, and resident care providers in mind, so it is readily used in a range of settings. PECS is a team approach that is implemented into the child’s classroom, therapy, and home environment.
Grow Learning Centre also uses the Handwriting Without Tears® curriculum, which draws from years of innovation and research to provide developmentally appropriate, multisensory strategies for early writing. The program follows research of how children learn best and includes materials that address all styles of learning.
Breakfast, lunch, and an afternoon snack are provided for children attending our Developmental Preschool. Additionally, Medicaid Transportation will transport your children to both facilities.
