Occupational Therapy
Play is the main occupation of childhood. Through play, Grow Learning Centre's Occupational Therapists assist children in learning the developmental skills necessary for success across all environments. These important developmental skills include:
- Social-emotional skills
- Self-care skills
- Fine-motor/Visual-motor skills
- Motor coordination
- Sensory processing
Our Occupational Therapists come from various backgrounds and experiences and utilize a variety of treatment approaches such as: sensory integration techniques, neurological approaches, handwriting solutions like Handwriting without Tears, and DIR Floor Time.
Sensory Gym
Grow Learning Centre offers a unique gym facility that presents children with opportunities in sensory exploration, strengthening, and executive function. In this space, kids are encouraged to use their imagination to create and participate in obstacle courses, ball games, and several other activities alongside their peers.
Children that can benefit from occupational therapy services have diagnoses that include, but are not limited to:
- Developmental Delays
- Autism Spectrum Disorder
- Sensory Processing Difficulties
- Birth/Congenital Disorders
Each child is provided with an individualized occupational therapy treatment program to best fit their needs while utilizing their strengths to increase independence. Occupational Therapists work closely with families, other therapists, teachers, and medical professionals to best address each child’s individual needs. We believe that this collaboration is integral in providing a holistic approach and improving therapeutic outcomes.
